Synopsis

"Backyarders" in South Africa are somewhere between home-owner and homeless. They erect shacks in people's backyards and pay rent for very low quality living conditions. This is the story of "Ruo Emoh" in Mitchell's Plain, which was a 20 year journey of residents gaining their first homes, with the support for the charities CORC and SDI Alliance.
