Home Boy Joy Ride

The decade of death in LA brought about the creation of over 700 gangs in LA fighting over territory in the poorest parts of East LA. This created a subculture of gangs, drugs, and violence. Enter Greg Boyle who was charged by grieving mothers to do something. The response was Home Boy Industries which created employment opportunities and more importantly kinship. The idea was nothing stops a bullet like a job. This was the beginning of a community that has transformed LA and produced a plan for transformational healing that draws people from the world over to experience how being vulnerable to grief, loss and trauma can becomes the ultimate act of courage.
