Synopsis

The LoLo Show is a funny, irreverent, and wildly unconventional American family story about murder, media, sex, censorship, belonging, and the things we inherit from the people who raise us.
At its center are Marvin Burak, a controversial Philadelphia radio commentator and fierce advocate for free speech, and his wife, a former burlesque performer known as the Cajun Queen. Their children grew up in a world where few subjects were off-limits.
In 1982, Marvin was shot and killed.
Decades later, their daughter Lois, who found her own voice in radio and pursued a place in Howard Stern's uncensored world, revisits her family's history through archival recordings, letters, home movies, and personal reflection.
Blending humor, family history, and cultural commentary, the documentary asks: How much of what we believe about ourselves and other people did we actually choose?
