In 2023, Floridalma Roque, a migrant nurse returning from the US, entered his clinic for cosmetic surgery but never walked out. The prosecution alleges that decisions were made internally to cover up her death. It was investigative journalists, not institutions, who pushed the case forward. They built a forensic timeline using CCTV, GPS, and digital metadata that contradicts the defense's initial version. With the accused on trial within a slow justice system, Floridalma's sons—José and Jorge, living in the US and Mexico—await a verdict from afar. The camera follows them: making decisions, receiving news, and negotiating with time and their mother's memory.
