The Abraham Project

The Abraham Project is a one-hour documentary exploring Abraham and Sarah not simply as foundational religious figures, but as human beings living through age, barrenness, migration, uncertainty and an extraordinary promise that seemed increasingly impossible.

Drawing upon ancient texts, history, archaeology, scholarship and the landscapes associated with their journey, the film asks what can be recovered about the people behind one of humanity’s most enduring stories—and why their experience still resonates thousands of years later.

The documentary is conceived as a complete stand-alone film. If its exploration finds an audience, other ancient stories of women, barrenness, promise and birth may later be developed as individual documentaries.
