Unbecoming

The film follows two people over six months as they embark on deeply personal journeys with psychedelics. Rather than beginning with a predetermined conclusion, director Patrick Moreau allows the story to unfold organically, documenting what happens before, during, and after the psychedelic experience.

Their journeys are placed in conversation with perspectives from neuroscientist Dr. Christof Koch, psychedelic researcher Dr. Robin Carhart-Harris, Indigenous medicine guardian Hector Martinez, and Tibetan Buddhist monk Charok Lama. Together, these voices create a dialogue between neuroscience, Indigenous wisdom, spirituality, and lived experience.

The film asks: What happens when you stop looking for the answer and start living the question?

UNBECOMING ultimately explores whether transformation means becoming someone new—or stripping away what was never truly you.
