Persistence

Set on a rough, overcast beach, Persistence follows a young surfer attempting to enter the sea with a surfboard as powerful tides repeatedly force him back to shore.
Shot entirely from a distance in a single observational sequence, the film gradually transforms a simple moment into something universal and meditative. The boy becomes less an individual and more a reflection of human persistence itself - the instinct to continue despite resistance, failure, exhaustion, and uncertainty.
Without dialogue or conventional narrative structure, Persistence invites the viewer to observe repetition, rhythm, isolation, and determination unfolding against the vastness of the sea.
