Synopsis

Between the years 2008 and 2010, we executed the project “Improvement of Dietary Sovereignty in the Andean zone of Ancash” in the districts of Carhuaz and Pamparomas, in 20 communities located in the Black Mountain Range. During the project, more than 300 families installed healthy gardens and were trained in healthy eating with the objectives of achieving self-sufficiency in diversified foods and reducing child malnourishment which characterizes many of the children. The family mothers, principal actors in this process of change, share some lessons about the experience.
