- Synopsis
This film uncovers a forgotten truth about human evolution: women—especially post-menopausal women—were the steady leaders who helped humanity thrive. Drawing on groundbreaking science, the film challenges the male-centered story of our origins and reframes menopause not as decline, but as the very adaptation that made us who we are.
Through interviews with anthropologists, evolutionary biologists, cultural historians, and everyday women, the film reveals how fire, food, and the wisdom of elders built community and sparked the rise of civilization. Narrated with humor and edge by Margaret Cho, Wise Women is both a history correction and a call to action—reminding us that when wise women lead, humanity flourishes.
Currently in final release, the film will premiere October 2025 in New York City with a campaign to spark global dialogue around women’s leadership, empowerment, and the social transformation our time demands.
