A 9/11 first responder. Best friends and business owners. The leading BIPOC activists in the city.From the outside, New York was the most dangerous place in the world. From the inside, it was home. They’d survived 9/11, they’d survived Sandy - they would survive this too. With unprecedented access from March 2020 to February 2021, “The American Virus” is a feature length documentary that tracks the journey of different New Yorkers as they confront the American virus of apathy, oppression and social degradation.
