Synopsis

In this time of economic insecurity and corporate consolidation we seem helpless to stop the world’s largest and most profitable companies from putting small, independent businesses out of business. Until very recently, neighborhood restaurants seemed immune to this consolidation by offering distinctly regional foods and a window into the unique character of each community. The Coronavirus and resulting restaurant closures has destroyed much of that immunity.
