Synopsis

What if your death sentence became the catalyst to fully embrace your life? In 2010, at the age of 40, successful Emmy-nominated television producer Mariam Jobrani was diagnosed with breast cancer. In search of answers to make sense of her illness, Mariam turns to her past for clues. Joined by her cinematographer ex-boyfriend, Kenny Krauss, they start filming. What starts out as a light project to give her distance from her diagnosis, turns into a remarkable global journey to find true healing—mind, body, and soul. Surrounded by her sometimes-eccentric Iranian-American family, Mariam moves past her pain to re-examine the pieces of her life and find the beauty in what was always there. Full of heart, surprisingly funny, and bracingly honest, EVERYTHING MUST CHANGE is a meditation on love and loss, optimism and perseverance, and a potent reminder that we’re here to live life to the fullest.
