Synopsis

Profiles five scrappy queer artists who have tackled major political issues and the quirks of daily life with depth, seriousness, and humor. The film traces their artistic careers, as well as their personal journeys, painting moving and amusing portraits of the struggle for authenticity in art and life. It's a story that begins in a period of censorship in the U.S. and marginalization even among underground cartoonists, and ultimately reaches mainstream acceptance.
