Bio

Vittorio Bongiorno is a writer, musician and director born in Palermo in 1973. His bildungsro- man novel “Il Bravo figlio” (Rizzoli, 2006), was praised by a flattering review by Fernanda Pivano in Corriere della Sera. In 2011, the novel “Il Duka in Sicilia” (Einaudi Stile libero, 2011) and “City blues: Los Angeles, Berlin, Detroit - Music, people, stories” (EDT, 2016) were publi- shed. He wrote the screenplay “Il Duka” (Sacher Prize, 2003), published as a short story in Alias-the manifesto, and “Alma” (best screenplay award at BAFF 2010).

He wrote and directed the documentaries, “Buia era la notte” (2010), “Zucchero: Nudo e Cru- do (Naked & Raw)” (2017), “Greetings From Austin” (2018), “Songs With Other Strangers” (2019) and “4EST Suite” (2021).
He lives in Bologna and collaborates with the newspaper “Il Foglio.”
