Bio
Sidney Ken is an award-winning Cambodian director and commercial colorist based in Phnom Penh. Sidney’s body of work primarily centers on documentaries that examine social change, culture, and environmental issues, alongside commercially branded documentaries and digital content. His acclaimed short documentary “Respoken” (2024), co-directed with Thai Phirun Hul, explores the revival of Lakhon Niyeay, Cambodia’s spoken theater tradition, through the eyes of a small group of passionate artists. The movie premiered at the 13th Chaktomuk Short Film Festival and went on to win Best Documentary at the 4th Cambodia National Short Film Festival, as well as Best Short Film and Best Short Film Director at the 3rd Cambodia Asian Film Festival.
