SHANTI BHUSHAN ROY W.I.C.A.& FTII CINEMATOGRAPHER & Director of Photography INDIA Shanti Bhushan is a Graduate in Cinematography (2005-06) from the most prestigious Film and Television Institute of India (FTII)-PUNE. A final year MCA (Masters in Computer Applications) dropout-he went onto specialise as a Cinematographer at the one of the best Film Institute (FTII-Pune) and equipped himself with the state of the art technology in Motion Picture Photography. He has worked on several 35MM & Wide Screen formats (ARRI 535B, ARRI 3C, ARRI2C, MITCHELL (NC&BNC) and 16MM & Super 16MM (ARRISR3/SR2/BL) cameras and also specialised in various advanced Lab Processing and DI Techniques. He has worked on various formats of High End Digital Cine Cameras formats like ALEXA, RED and also various Digital Video High Definition (Sony HDWF-900/Cine Alta/PMW500 HD/F3 and Panasonic Varicam HD27F) to Digital Video broadcast formats like DIGI Beta & Beta(Sony-790,537,D35), DVCPROs models to Digital Videos - HDV (JVC & Sony HVR Z-1E, Z-7 etc), DVCAM(DSR450,400,250etc)& mini DV (Sony-PD170/150/100,VX2000& Cannon XL-1 etc). He is also worked with New Media of various DSLRs Cannon 5D Mark II, 7D and new technology which is still evolving. He has shot " BALLAD OF RUSTOM" a critically acclaimed and multiple award winning Hindi Feature film by Oscar nominated AJITA SUCHITRA VEERA on 35MM-Anamorphic with ARRI 535B Cameras and Hawk lenses- which is doing rounds of international film festivals - which has got "BEST DIRECTOR" award for Director Ms Ajita Suchitra Veera's EXCELLENT CINEMATIC EXPRESSION ,DARING FORM AND PERSPECTIVE. It also got Featured in April 2013 issue of prestigious American Cinematographer Magazine of USA and Kodak International Magazine "In Camera" worldwide for the excellent Cinematic Image making on 35MM Film. He has shot a Hindi Feature film "AASMA" by multiple award winning feature film Director Sudipto Sen on RED EPIC with Ultra Primes - which is in under post production phase. He has shot a Hindi Feature film "THE STORY OF MY LIFE" by Vipul Maheshwari on RED and 5D MARK II with Cine Primes in under post production phase. He has shot another Feature Film in Hindi "SHUTTLE COCK BOYS" by Hemant Gabba on super 16MM with ARRI-16SR2 cameras has been recently released by PVR all over the country. He has also shot a Feature Film in Hindi "VATSALA" on HDV (JVC) which is to be released on 35MM (1.85:1) Also He has shot a number of Short Feature films, International Documentaries and Music videos on different Digital Video Formats. He has also shot a number of TVCs for brands like TATA STEEL, PEPSODENT, SURF EXCEL, DOVE SOAP, DOMEX, BOURNVITA ETC and also have shot several CORPORATE AD FILMS for corporate like INTEL -MUMBAI,AND TATATELE SERVICES- MUMBAI, MTDC-MUMBAI etc. on different Film and Digital Video Formats. He has worked on one of the biggest Television programs- SATYAMEV JAYATE -hosted by AMIR KHAN as CHIEF CINEMATOGRAPHER amongst others programs for Channels like STAR WORLD, SONY,SAHARA, STAR PLUS etc, which include primetime programs, talk shows as well as current affairs. He has worked and collaborated with a number of well known cinematographers on both Feature Films and Commercials. Cinematographers like Raoul Coutard, Sven Nykvist, Subrato Mitra, Darrius Khondji and Japanese and East European cinematographers have been a strong inspiration for him.
