Assistant Professor and Chair of the Department of Literature, Communication, and Media at the American Jewish University. Filmmaker, though my full time job currently leaves little time for that. Prior to earning my doctorate, I spent five years as a video producer based in Panama, writing, directing, producing, and editing both nonfiction and fiction. In 2014 I was a co-producer on a Panamaian independent fiction feature that is currently in post with the working title "Decembers". My academic work has focused on community media and I am interested in democratic systems of media production.
