Erik J. de Jager is a documentary filmmaker particularly interested in the everyday actions 
that make up people’s lives. His mostly commisioned films and television programmes have aired on television channels KRO, SBS6, RTL4, Veronica, RTL5 and also on GranadaTV in the UK. The films also find an increasing use on dedicated websites, for example, of health organizations. Apart from commissioned work, Erik also independently develops projects and seeks cooperation with research institutes. These projects often make use of Oral History interviews as a means to facilitate a process according to the Challenge for Change programme as originally developed by the National Film Board of Canada.
