Bio
Paulo Padilha has been working in documentaries for over 20 years, starting off as an assistant editor while still a student at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts. He learned his trade working on several Emmy and Peabody award-winning independent documentaries and programs for PBS, learning from some of the best editors in New York, such as Lewis Erskine, Mary Lampson, Li-Shin Yu and Jean Tsien. He has edited dozens of projects in the United States and Brazil, from branded content and commercials to feature docs and docuseries. His credits include Art:21, Vice’s Creators Project (winner of a Cannes Lion), TV Globo’s “Doce de Mãe” (winner of an International Emmy for Best Comedy Series), among others. His latest project was the feature doc “How To Rob A Bank,” which premiered on Netflix in June of 2024.
