Pepe Urquijo received his MFA from the School of Visual Arts Social Documentary Film Program in New York City. He is also a Rockefeller Media Fellow and his previous work experience includes Discovery Channelâ€™s â€œSan Quentin Film Schoolâ€ and PBS's Documentary Series â€œTruly CAâ€. Pepe has curated for Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco and various other film festivals in the Bay Area. He has taught & shared digital storytelling with scores of youth from Oakland to San Francisco and together, they have produced hundreds of short stories. Pepe is inspired by the hero twins Hunahpu & Xbalanque plus other unsung/unknown heroes of the Americaâ€™s. His favorite documentary is a three-way tie between â€œTire DiÃ©, â€œBurden of Dreamsâ€ and â€œMegacitiesâ€. He will one day be a coffee snob.
