I am currently doing my PhD at Adelphi Research Institute within the University of Salford, exploring how independent filmmakers can use existing and emerging online marketing and distribution models to create a sustainable filmmaking environment for themselves. This is an experimental research project, aimed at empowering independent filmmakers. I am myself editing and recording sound for independent documentaries. Currently, I edit "Is This Me?" and "In My Mind's Eye" two documentaries on adoption in Ireland (funded by the Irish Arts Council). I am also a co-owner/manager of Immergut Festival, a non-profit independent music festival in Neustrelitz, Germany, which aims at stimulating the growth of German independent music.
