Nicole Ma’s award winning projects include documentaries Dances of Ecstasy and Kurtal Snake Spirit and multi-media projects Yiwarra Kuju and the inaugural exhibitions for the National Museum of Australia. Her New York based film company Bluehorse Films co-produced feature films Combination Platter (Sundance screenwriting award) and My Father is Coming; music videos for Whitney Houston and Sonic Youth; concert films for Annie Lennox, Michael Bolton and Newport Jazz Festival. She was a location manager on Malcom X (Spike Lee) and Haitian Corner (Raoul Peck). Nicole wrote, produced and directed the award winning drama short Living Rooms funded by the New York State Council of the Arts. Putuparri and the Rainmakers is her first feature length documentary. It premiered at the Melbourne International Film festival, HotDocs and won best film at the 2015 CinefestOz Film Festival.
