Molly Smollett

I am a retired film editor from New York where in the 1980’s, I edited documentaries for ABC, NBC, CBS, and Public Television. My film “Seeds of Revolution” about Honduras won the Columbia I. Dupont Award in 1980. In 1985, I produced and directed a docudrama, “Flo and Charlie” about homelessness in NYC which was shown widely at churches. I am a member of the Motion Picture Editor’s Guild as well as the Director’s Guild of America.

In 1994, I moved to Las Vegas, New Mexico. Since then, the films I produced dealt with the issues of alcoholism, fracking, the WIC program (Women, Infants and Children) in New Mexico and our local Farmer’s Market. In 2018, when migrant children were being separated from their parents, I made a 30 second video on this topic. (YouTube: Looper87701- Separated Migrant Children)

I just finished a very timely documentary about the challenging life of a long-time friend who was a Tuskegee Airman, “Charlie’s story, Tuskegee and More”. It was highlighted by the Roy W. Dean Foundation as a notable film in 2022. (Charlie’s Story: Tuskegee and More) (https://vimeo.com/697737674)
