Bio

Michael Lahey is an award-winning filmmaker, producer, and editor based in Chicago, IL. Combining a love of storytelling with technical acumen, Michael has 20+ years experience in documentaries, broadcast television, and corporate content.

His first film, Tugs Untied, won the Best of Arizona Award at the Arizona International Film Festival. Michael’s next doc, Making Waves, won the Jury Prize for Best Feature Documentary at the Newburyport Documentary and Great Lakes International Film Festivals. His latest film, Shelf Life: The Story of Lanzi Candy, premiered at the Gene Siskel Film Center and has continued to screen throughout the US and Canada.

Michael has edited programs for PBS, Discovery, History Channel and National Geographic, among others. He’s an avid cyclist, 70s film enthusiast, and dog volunteer. He grew up in DeKalb, IL, and holds a Master of Arts degree in Film and Literature. In 2004, he founded Jump Cut Films.To be completed.
