Kirthi Nath Pro

Kirthi Nath is an award-winning South Asian lesbian filmmaker and impact producer whose work is rooted in art as activism and the centering of BIPOC voices. Her films fluidly straddle genres, occupying a fertile landscape of cultural poetics, social justice and spirituality. Kirthi’s work has been featured at Mill Valley Film Festival, CAAMFest, Frameline, 3rd i, DisOrient, Bengal International and Wicked Queer, with solo shows at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and Artists’ Film Network / ATA, and commissions for V-Day, One Billion Rising, Off the Mat and Newcomer Schools.

She has received grants from the Center for Asian American Media, Center for Cultural Innovation and V-Day, and has participated in the Re-Present Media Fellowship, Asian American A-Doc Allies, Brown Girls Doc Mafia Mastermind, Looky Looky’s Guided Campaign and Bitchitra Collective’s curated programs. Her film PARAMITA has screened at 30+ festivals worldwide, accompanied by an impact campaign that creates space for reflection, ritual and community connection.

Kirthi is also the founder and lead filmmaker at Cinemagical Media, a woman-of-color-led creative agency specializing in filmmaking, creative strategy and impact producing. Cinemagical partners with organizations, communities and changemakers to produce films and workshops that uplift BIPOC voices, invite cultural transformation and reimagine liberation.
