An award-winning film producer, writer, director, and actor, Julie Rubio launched East Meets West Productions. Rubio has written, directed, and produced numerous films. Her movies have appeared in many festivals including Heartland, Cinequest, Maui Film Festival, Miami International Film Festival, Napa Valley Film Festival, CAAMFest, Sonoma Wine Valley Film Festival, Los Angeles Film Festival, and San Francisco International Latino Film Festivals. Rubio produced the multiple award-winning feature film East Side Sushi, which received a nomination for Cinema Tropical's 2016 Best Latino Film of the Year. East Side Sushi has domestic and international distribution through Samuel Goldwyn Company, Sony Home, and HBO North America. Rubio wrote, directed, and co-produced the feature film Too Perfect, distributed domestically and internationally through Osiris Entertainment. Her feature-length screenplay, Six Sex Scenes and a Murder, opened up at the Lumiere Theatre in San Francisco, and has domestic and international distribution. Other films Rubio produced include, Soledad is Gone Forever for Haiku Films, Oakland B Mine, the comedy Del Cielo (Of Heaven), Everything is Temporary, and Kahleo Music. Her next feature film, One, is in pre-production.
