Bio

Mehran Haghighi began his career in 1991 by co-founding Behnegar, a production and distribution company in Iran. While in Behnegar, he produced several fiction, documentary, and short films, some of which were co-produced with filmmakers from France, Japan, Tunisia, and Germany. Five of the 13 films he has worked on have been recognized with awards.

Mehran was the co-producer of the feature film Djomeh, the recipient of the Camera d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 2000, and Bab’Aziz: The Prince that Contemplated His Soul, the recipient of the Best Feature Film at the Mascot International Film Festival.

In 2016, Mehran established the production company Homa Films, which focuses on producing films that showcase the Iranian heritage, history, art, and culture.
