Bio
Basil Tsiokos is a consultant to documentary filmmakers and festivals, Programming Associate for the Sundance Film Festival, Film Program Director for the Nantucket Film Festival, and Senior Programmer for DOC NYC. He is a regular contributor to Indiewire, where he curates Hulu's Documentaries page. Basil teaches a course at Pratt on film festivals and oversees Wallabout, a student short film festival. He was the Artistic and Executive Director of NewFest: The NY LGBT Film Festival between 1996-2008. Basil writes about documentaries daily at what (not) to doc and via Twitter @1basil1. He holds a Masters degree from New York University and two undergraduate degrees from Stanford University.
