Bio

Zoe is a graduate of Canterbury University School of Fine Arts, where she majored in film theory and practical film (BFA). While studying she made two short documentaries - Night Vision, exploring the extraordinary relationship between a pimp and a prostitute and Mail Order - about men who purchase mail order brides in New Zealand. Mail Order was selected for the NZ Media Peace Awards and DOCNZ 06, where she was awarded special mention for Best Emerging Filmmaker. Lost In Wonderland is a feature documentary she directed, about a dedicated non conformist lawyer, called Rob Moodie. Lost in Wonderland has been selected for The NZ international film festival and Fifo international film festival. While making her own independent work she has directed several segments for the award winning TV arts show, The Gravy and doco installations for the Auckland Museum. Recently she has finished directing a 35mm short film called Day Trip (which has just been selected for Tribbeca) and is currently in production with another doco called King of Caravans.
