Bio

Sushmit Ghosh is an independent documentary filmmaker, working in New Delhi, India. He is a graduate from AJK, Mass Communication Research Centre and has an interest in stories that engage, inspire and create value. With this guiding philosophy, he co-founded a creative agency, Black Ticket Films, in the summer of 2009. The idea was to create non-fiction films with a powerful visual language. Our films’ themes have varied from food security, environment and sustainable agriculture to public health, refugee rights, and access to justice, among others.

In our journey over the past 7 years, our films have been recipients of numerous national and international documentary film awards, including the National Film Award, which is India’s most prominent award for films. These films have been screened at global platforms like United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP-16) and also broadcast on global television networks, including the National Geographic Channel. Our films Dilli (2011) and Timbaktu (2012) are currently being used as tools of advocacy and social intervention by institutions globally.
