Bio

I began my television career at CNN in its early years, producing mini-documentaries on medical topics. At PBS NewsHour, I won an Emmy for my very first story, which broke the news about Admiral Elmo Zumwalt and his son’s Agent Orange-related cancer. My documentary on AIDS and the arts was invited to the Berlin Film Festival, the first time a piece produced for an American news program had ever been so honored. I've won half a dozen Emmys, a Peabody and a Loeb. I am a Cornell alum, with a master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University.
