Bio

I was born on Labor Day, which no doubt led to my direct sense of humor. The oldest of four daughters, I grew up on a farm in northwest Ohio.  During four amazing years attending Ohio University, I made my first two documentaries, one of which earned a regional Emmy nomination. This set me on the path of working to tell real stories using video, photography and the written word, with the goal of educating through entertaining.

I began my New York career at a political advertising firm working on campaigns for Kirsten Gillibrand and Hillary Clinton’s first presidential bid. I’ve produced an eclectic collection of programming for National Geographic, FYI, ABC, Bloomberg & WEtv.

Most recently, I led development at Engel Entertainment. I began focusing on television, eventually pitching and developing digital and branded content. While at Engel Entertainment, I oversaw the recasting of North Woods Law for Animal Planet, as well as developed a partnership with Carbon TV, the premier online destination for premium outdoor content.

I’ve enjoyed casting and producing global ad campaigns, branded content, and public advocacy campaigns. One of my favorite freelance jobs has been finding unique non-fiction stories from every corner of the globe for Google Creative Lab.

In my free time, you can find me cooking a feast, pitching on my softball team Chardee MacDennis or checking my horoscope.  I am a proud plant hoarder, attend Newport Folk Festival every year and rarely turn down wine.
