Below are the descriptions of and the download links for a sampling of my video works. There are both content/narrative-based pieces and then, listed below those, motion graphics-based pieces showing that other side of my experience. A close-up look at local rising pitching star Manny Del Carmen, his minor league dad’s tutelage of his talent, and their draft negotiations stand-off with the Red Sox. This show for WGBH La Plaza received a regional Emmy for Best Sports Show of the Year & was nominated for Best Editing.

An informal and personal bio piece produced for the Merck family in remembrance of their illustrious predecessor and to honor the 50th Anniversary of the Merck Family Fund that he set up. The piece was a major hit with those who knew GWM best – his family.

From the wilds of far eastern Russia, is another save in post for the Versus series “Quest for the One”! A surprise attack by the 9-foot bear, intent on having one of the hunting party’s horses for dinner, left no choice but to shoot to kill before the camera was even turned on! Only allowed one bear kill per expedition, I was given the footage and had to “fix it in post!” I concocted the confrontation out of post-mortem shaky cam re-enactments and stock footage. See if you think I made it work … or not! All graphics, packaging, and animations are mine as well, for this show and for the series. An entertaining quick look at the WGBH series Greater Boston Arts first five years. At the ICA celebration, GBH Prez Henry Becton, Jr. asked “Who did that editing!” … c'est moi! It’s a nifty and upbeat mini-review of the wide range of the creative arts BGA had presented during those first five years. In a GBH edit room, holed up alone for a weekend with a several boxes of tapes and a Monday morning deadline, I essentially was the producer/director/designer as well as the editor.

(A7) Kopec_DVD1_Promo_9_min.mov (9:40 / 252MB) - Producer, Director, Camera, Editor, 3D Animator, Online Finishing, & DVD authoring for the promo and the entire two-hour DVD.

A sampler with user accolades sprinkled among these short highlights of the 2-hour DVD “How to Visualize Chess Combinations”. I wore all production hats on this project - producer, director, camera, editor, animator, designer, etc, etc. The piece utilizes green screen production, 3D animations, and composites to make it the best quality instructional chess video ever!
