Angela Brown Pro

Angela Brown is a cultural story producer, media researcher, and writer whose work focuses on cult cinema, queer media history, and visual culture from the VHS and pre-digital era.

She is the creator of Exquisite Revolt, an independent media project examining how film, television, and cultural narratives shape personal and collective identity through writing and video essays. Her recent series, Late Return, pairs personal film memory with cultural criticism through short-form, on-camera video.

Angela also founded Archives of Media Culture, an independent research archive dedicated to overlooked films and visual culture from the 1980s and 1990s. Its inaugural volume, a curated guide to 100 essential practical effects films (1980–1995), brings together curated film research, media history, and archival discovery from the pre-digital era.

After more than two years developing independent media and research projects while traveling internationally, Angela is now based in New York City where she is writing her first screenplay, a magically queer, neurodivergent psychological dramedy.

She is open to collaborations and contract work in documentary storytelling, production and story research, archival research, and cultural media projects.
