Bio
Ellen Moore is a writer/director. As a playwright and director, she’s worked at NYU in the Tisch graduate Acting program, at the American Conservatory Theater, Encore Theater, Theatreworks, Word For Word, Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts, the Denver Theater Center, and at Teatro Zinzanni, a circus cabaret. She’s won a Chesterfield Fellowship, a California Arts Council Screenwriting Fellowship, and a Vermont Studio Center residency. Ellen has written multiple screenplays and English adaptations for Japanese animation including Animatrix, and Vampire Hunter D. She worked for seven years as assistant to Annette Bening and her feature film production experience includes The American President, Love Affair, Mars Attacks, Bullworth, and Richard III. In addition, she’s worked with author Amy Tan on a television series for PBS/Sesame Workshop, an opera production for SF Opera, and on a feature documentary, Journey of the Bonesetter’s Daughter, which aired on PBS in 2008. She holds an MFA in acting from the American Conservatory Theater.
