Jeannette Louie is a filmmaker and visual artist investigating the quixotic nature of human consciousness. Blending animation, narrative and documentary forms to create visionary portraits, she renders the fragile choreography of the mind as it strives for identity. A recipient of a Rome Prize from the American Academy of Rome, a Creative Capital Fellowship and residencies from The Bogliasco Foundation, Corporation of Yaddo, Skowhegan and The Center for Photography at Woodstock, her work has been presented internationally at AmDocs, Hot Docs, LeFIFA, Vancouver, Bolton, Los Angeles Asian Pacific, Imagine Science, Maryland, Aesthetica, CAAMFEST, Florida, Minneapolis St. Paul, Message to Man, Montclair, among others. Her films have been honored by the American Psychological Association, The Black Maria, Reel Sisters of Diaspora, Tallgrass and Seattle Asian American.
