My name is Ben, I am a student at the School of Visual Arts. I am in their new program in the Social Documentary department. Looking forward to meet and work with y'all. Seems like a great crowd. I am living in NYC, so if any of you need a hand I would love to do what I can.

Welcome to The D-Word, Ben. Curious what you think of the SVA program. Heard good things but it would be good to hear from someone directly involved.
I'm Kevin Tostado and I'm currently producing and directing "Under the Boardwalk", a documentary about the game of MONOPOLY, the people who play it, and how it has become a worldwide phenomenon over the last 75 years. You can watch a trailer and find out more about the film at http://MonopolyDocumentary.com or follow us on Twitter at http://twitter.com/MonopolyDoc
I'm Bob Czepiel (pronunced SeePeal). I have produced 4 local historica documentaries. The most recent, The Kate: Old Saybrook's Crown Jewel,
the new theater for the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center.
I'm not a filmmaker who found a subject, but am a subject who became a filmmaker – to tell the world about the crop circle phenomenon. My new film is "What On Earth? Inside the Crop Circle Mystery." My fundamental interest is in the consciousness expanding awakening going on, and the circles could create the biggest shift ever in how humanity perceives itself. If we knew we were being visited by another intelligence, we would be one humanity in relation to 'the other,"' and, given how dangerous we have become to one another, as someone in the film says, "That could be what saves this civilization." Am doing DIY marketing, with an internet official launch a couple of weeks ago. This is the marketing site to which we are directing traffic: http://CropCircleMovie.com. This is the film website – http://www.WhatOnEarthTheMovie.com – a trippy, beautiful source of info about the film and the circles, but not as hard hitting to sell DVDs as the site we created for that purpose.
I've been lurking around reading the posts for a while, I think its about time I introduced myself as well:).
I'm Mridula Bhatia, a first time documentary filmmaker staying in Seattle. I've just finished editing my first film -The Mountaineers. Its a thirty minute long film about three women cancer survivors who try and climb Mount Adams. Its been a long, fun though isolating experience to do this on my own. Now that its done, I am at a loose end planning the next step for the film.
I'm looking for some guidance and to learn. Thanks Doug, for having this forum.
Our pleasure, Mridula. Great to have you here. Feel free to sign up for full membership ...
