DocuClub is seeking a rough cut of a short doc (10-20 minutes) for Wednesday, April 21, 2010.
Every month at DocuClub a filmmaker presents a rough cut of her film to DocuClub members and the public. A facilitated discussion follows each screening. Past films that have been shown at DocuClub include BORN INTO BROTHELS (Academy Award for Best Documentary, 2004), PRODIGAL SONS (Telluride Film Festival 2008), and DISTURBING THE UNIVERSE: RADICAL LAWYER WILLIAM KUNSTLER (Sundance Film Festival 2009). For more details, go to: www.docuclub.org.
Our April DocuClub will take place on Wednesday, April 21, 7 p.m., at DCTV, located at 87 Lafayette Street (at Walker; take N/R/Q/6 trains to Canal). Our moderator will be Iris Morales, a life-long activist, educator, media producer and writer. She is the producer, writer and co-director of !PALANTE, SIEMPRE PALANTE! THE YOUNG LORDS, an award-winning documentary that chronicles Puerto Rican activism in the United States in the Sixties.
If you would like to be considered, please mail a clearly labeled DVD screener to the address below. (Please note that your screener will not be returned unless you provide a SASE.)
