Bio

I bring a wide range of skills to the table, as an investigative journalist, author, producer, writer, director and programming executive that's bolstered by the ability to collaborate and build teams that create compelling programming.

I've studied directing with Uta Hagen and Lloyd Richards and have directed Lily Tomlin, Christine Lahti, Colleen Dewhurst, Alfre Woodard, Edward Herrmann, Kris Kristofferson and other professional actors. I have the ability to direct non-professionals and get them ready for prime time including corporate executives, union leaders, line workers and non-actors like aviator Chuck Yeager. As a field producer and director I bring a keen visual sense to every project.

Storytelling has been my passion since college where I discovered the power of media to make social change. At UCLA I decided to find a way to channel this interest into producing documentaries. My Project One in the film school sparked an ongoing investigation into the aftermath of a secret nuclear reactor meltdown I discovered that had taken place in the San Fernando Valley. Actor, Mike Douglas is currently producing a documentary about this and local TV station, KNBC has been doing an ongoing series about the stalled clean up and the history of the site. A UCLA student wrote her thesis script about my UCLA adventures that won an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation award and is currently in development.

What I’ve learned is the power of a story, like radiation, can have a long half-life.
