Bio

Anna Feder has been working in cinema exhibition in various capacities for over two decades. She served as a programmer for Wicked Queer: the Boston LGBT Film Festival and SFIndie, associate director of the Northampton Independent Film Festival and was the director of the Boston Underground Film Festival for seven years. She is also one of the core organizers of Queering the Cinema, a professional organization for queer identified exhibitors and distributors.

She currently serves as the Head of Film Exhibition and Festival Programs in the Visual Media Arts department at Emerson College and curates the Bright Lights cinema series in the Bright Family Screening Room. She is affiliated faculty teaching a course she designed, Behind the Screens: the Mechanics of Cinema Exhibition. She is also a documentary filmmaker, her second short Never Again Para Nadie on a Jewish group in Providence, RI working to end the ICE detention of immigrants at the Wyatt detention center in Central Falls is available online for free at neveragaindoc.com. She is currently in production on her third film about the history and significance of a queer club which started in the mid eighties and re-opened last year after an 18 year hiatus.
