Jennifer Adriene Burks

Jennifer attended the University of St. Thomas, majoring in Broadcast Journalism with minors in Business Administration and Political Science. She participated in the Washington Journalism Semester program at American University in Spring 2003. While in Washington, she worked as a Production Assistant at C-SPAN. In Fall 2003, Jennifer participated in UST’s London Business Semester. She worked at the London Student Newspaper as a General Assignment Reporter covering stories such as anti-war protests and meth addiction. Before arriving in London, she took part in a pre-tour through Europe, travelling in France, Belgium, and Holland. In January 2005, she was a part of the Pilgrimage to Italy program visting basilicas in Rome, Siena and Assisi. As a junior in college, Jennifer landed a job at WCCO-TV as an Assistant Producer. After graduation, Jen worked at KSTP-TV as a News Producer. She produced the political show At Issue and the noon newscast. She covered the political beat working for KARE 11 TV. Jen currently works for the Minnesota State Senate. She writes music reviews and articles for Rift Magazine, an alternative arts publication. She is also the Executive Producer of SPNN's music entertainment show, Plugged In. The show covers local and national acts. She plans to attend graduate school in the fall.
