David Majzlin is an Emmy®-nominated composer and music producer whose eclectic approach to music is unique to each project. He recently had the opportunity to work with opera star and five-time Grammy winner, Renée Fleming for the score to BEL CANTO, directed by Oscar-nominated director, Paul Weitz (ABOUT A BOY, AMERICAN PIE) and starring Oscar winner, Julianne Moore and Oscar nominated, Ken Watanabe. Other notable films include Peabody Award award-winning films DEEJ and THE LOVING STORY, Emmy®-nominated SINS OF MY FATHER (HBO), multi-award-winner and audience favorite, HERB AND DOROTHY, (Independent Lens), multi-award-winning doc ALTHEA (American Masters), YOUTH KNOWS NO PAIN (HBO), STILLE, (Winner - Best Score - Avignon Film Festival), BEING REEL (Grand Prize - Project Greenlight Competition) and SHENANDOAH (Louverture Films, Netflix), directed by Pulitzer Prize-Winning photographer, David Turnley.

He has also written several pieces for Golden Globe winner, MOZART IN THE JUNGLE, starring Lola Kirke, Gael García Bernal, and Bernadette Peters, and composed and conducted the trailer music for IS ANYBODY THERE?, starring Michael Caine (Big Beach Films). He also composed additional music for DIANA VREELAND: THE EYE HAS TO TRAVEL (Samuel Goldwyn Films), SUNSHINE CLEANING, starring Amy Adams, Emily Blunt, and Alan Arkin, and source music for THE GHOST WRITER (dir., Roman Polanski, starring Ewan McGregor, Pierce Brosnan, Kim Catrall), ALL GOOD THINGS (dir., Andrew Jarecki, starring Ryan Gosling, Kirsten Dunst, Frank Langella), and THE JONESES (starring Demi Moore, David Duchovny, and Lauren Hutton).


He has produced and created original music for a myriad of television shows and promos including PARENTHOOD, PERSON OF INTEREST, ANIMAL PLANET, DISCOVERY, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC, UGLY BETTY, CSI, THE GHOST WHISPERER, GREYS ANATOMY, THE TONY AWARDS, CNN, CNBC, A&E, DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES, and 60 MINUTES.

David's commercial compositions have earned a TELLY, CADDY, THE FIRST LONDON INTERNATIONAL ADVERTISING AWARD, AND THE INTERNATIONAL MONITOR AWARD. Theater credits include MANIGMA starring Tony award-winner, Michael Aronov (OSLO, THE AMERICANS), LILY: HER LIFE, HIS MUSIC (DiCapo Opera Theater) starring mezzo-soprano, Audrey Babcock, and THE WINTER'S TALE with Omar Metwally (MIRAL, MUNICH), a rock musical produced for The Rude Mechanicals Theater Company.

David has also worked on set with actors on set who are playing musicians for such films as THE MUSIC NEVER STOPPED (Sundance / Essential Pictures), starring J.K. Simmons, Julia Ormand, and Lou Taylor Pucci, and GREETINGS FROM TIM BUCKLEY, starring Imogen Poots and Penn Badgley.

He was commissioned to compose original pieces for HELIOS DANCE COMPANY, whose BEAUTIFUL MONSTERS premiered at UCLA's Royce Hall (choreographer, Laura Gorenstein Miller) and Labyrinth Dance Theater (choreographer, Sasha Spielvogel) productions NO WAY OUT BUT THROUGH, DARK ANGEL, and NOOR. He has collaborated in animation with with directors, Chris Miller (PUSS IN BOOTS, SHREK THE THIRD) and Rania Ajami (JUMPING PAGES), as an orchestrator and programmer with composer Paul Cantelon (DIVING BELL AND THE BUTTERFLY) and as a programmer with recording artist Lou Reed, bassist Fernando Saunders and violinist Daisy Jopling of prodigal string trio TRIOLOGY.
