Strange Day is a meditation on violence, inspired by the events of September 11. It is a music-video format, using (predominantly) images from that day and the weeks that followed, and incorporating scrolling text taken from J. Krishnamurti's book Freedom From The Known. Omid Arabian emigrated to the U.S. as a child at the time of the 1978 Iranian revolution, and lived in New York for 22 years. After the deeply disillusioning experience of NYU cinema studies, he turned to architecture and design as a career, and has been making films as an extra-curricular (though very necessary) activity. He is currently working on a long-format semi-experimental documentary about a group of Iranian-Americans of an age group and experience similar to his own. He has lived in Los Angeles since 1999. Discuss this film or watch more films? WAR & PEACE is intended as an ongoing project and the collection of films will grow and evolve over time. Please check back frequently, or join us with your own ideas. The films are streamed at Reelmind.com for Windows MediaPlayer and at Konscious.com for Real Player. |
