I'll soon be shooting series of docus to try change the bad impression that my country is suffering because of a few bad boys.
There are lots of good people and places in Nigeria and it should be said. None one is saying much and it worrisome to some of us.
I'll be shooting mostly in Nigeria but im hoping to translate/subtitle in different languages for international distribution. I'll need extra hands at that stage. Im a multilinguist, a language enthusiast
Ive never done international co-pro before but im hoping to clinch one soon. Ive been warned of the attending stress but then, whats life without adventure?
Hey, all! I just completed a 13-month project entitled Rink Rats, a documentary that focuses on the now-closed Western Berks Street Hockey Rink in Berks County, PA. The rink operated for over thirty years and had a major impact on thousands of people. The rink opened just after the Philadelphia Flyers won their second Stanley Cup, and since there were no ice rinks in the area, kids flocked to street hockey (the correct term is dekhockey). Now that the popularity of inline hockey has grown, and several ice rinks have been built, street hockey has dwindled and the old dekhockey players are just that...old. I sat down with over thirty owners, managers, referees, and players and put together a look back at those thirty years. A brief bio: I graduated from Temple U. in 1984 with a degree in Communications; worked for the US Tennis Association for 4 1/2 years as their AV Coordinator; ventured into teaching high school English; finally decided to dedicate myself to this project and had a wonderful (sometimes very frustrating) time doing it. Thanks to the D-Word for being such a great resource.
Hello Everyone... My name is Ozair and i am an indie documentary filmmaker. I will be traveling to Malaysia and Bangkok and would love to meet similar mindsets.. as for a bit about me.. here goes...
An MA in Mass Communications from Karachi University and presently enrolled in an online Alternate New York Film School Certification. I graduated from Curtin University of Technology, with a degree in Business Information Technology. Unlike a typical new graduate, I attended college and worked in the fields of Event Management, Marketing, ERP, Telecom, Sales, SAP Consultancy, Photography, PR, Information Technology, Production and Direction. Alongside, I enhanced my formal education, combing IT, Technical and Communication skills with my artistic school of thought, adding to my combination of skills.
Technically Sound, having hands on experience in Photography, Videography, Direction, Script Writing, Content Management, Lighting, Editing and Post Production, Visual Jocking, Online Video Hosting,Distribution and Analysis, Vlogging, Online Recording, Screen Captures & Webcasting.
My creative input is infected with the addiction of the following art forms of media domination:
Promotional / Marketing Videos
Editing & Post Production
Online Media Management & Consultancy
Commercials / IDs / Public Service Message
A little of what i have done so far, which i can put online is:
Looking forward to finding the people who would understand why i left being a SAP Consultant and walked in to make documentaries. :)
You certainly keep yourself busy Ozair. Welcome and best of luck!
Hey Rob, Its easy to List down things... i take it as a hobby.. although got fired from the first channel i was offered a job as a producer / director / Host in... as they couldn't control me like they controlled everyone else.. and then after i made a documentary on an earth quake that took place in Balochistan, Pakistan revealing everything and no one was willing to air it, i pretty much revolted against the local media .. so here i am :)
Hello... I am an award winning short documentary filmmaker and educator. My wife and I finished our first full length documentary about a wildlife park where the keepers have developed amazing relationships with the animals (and each other). We'd love feedback and have doc online at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rZf5WMplJhQ
Hi, I am Peter Berulf
I have been taking courses in documentary production in Silver Spring, MD, and made a couple of shorts in the process. I am going to travel around the northern hemisphere to document the diversity within the Family salmonidae (salmon and trout) and the diversity in the communities, people, and cultures that are invested in the species. I hope to make a film about this but still need someone to work with (if not I just do the travel, film, and post shorts on Youtube)
