Hello to all. Simon Kilmurry, the executive producer of P.O.V. (Point of View) saw something I posted on one of their blogs about documentary websites and suggested I come to this site to post something.

I'm just getting started in web design and have done only author websites. However, I'm a huge documentary enthusiast and it only occured to me after seeing P.O.V.'s blog that there is a way that I could help support the making of documentaries.

If anyone is in need of a website for their documentary, please feel free to contact me. I'm willing to do it at very little cost simply because I love documentaries so much and want to help.

My designs are very clean, simple, well-organized, yet stylish. I don't do anything too fancy like flash and the like, but if anyone is in need of a simple straight-forward website, I can help with that. I don't have anything to link to right now because I'm in the midst of redesigning a couple of websites I've done, but I can always email screenshots of those if you're interested.

I'm in school full-time right now and have a couple of websites on my plate currently, but I could be available in December to take on another project.

Hey everyone! Screenwriters are free to dream up plot twists for a three-act story, but we documentary filmmakers must design scenes based on what was actually filmed in real life. These two constraints–“what was filmed” and “real life”--present special challenges. Whether a documentary editor is using a three-act storyboard or some other narrative design, how does she stay true to actual happenings when she must persuade and contort them into climaxes and plot turns?

I’m teaching my popular weekend seminar, “Structuring the Character-Driven Documentary,” on October 10 and 11 at the San Francisco Film Society. This class will outline the principles of classic three-act narrative structure as taught by professional screenwriters, and we’ll learn how documentary filmmakers can adapt these structural demands to the randomness of real life. Hi All,

I'm wondering if anyone out there might be interested in coming out to
South India to help me with a doc that I'm developing/ shooting on the
international eco/ spiritual community of Auroville. I'll be here for
the next 1-2 years and would be interested in working closely with
someone who is good with ideas and people. I can't really offer much
in the way of payment..... I'll rent the house and keep it running.
I'll be in Montreal for late November in the event that anyone is
interested in meeting up to discuss and explore options.

The Going Green Film Festival is currently taking submissions for our April 2010 Film Festival in Beverly Hills, CA. This is the only festival of its kind to focus exclusively on green filmmaking, from production to content!

Shorts/Features are being considered for three main categories in the festival:

*GREEN PRODUCTION, where a film’s production worked to lessen the carbon footprint left on the planet (with sufficient documentation of this process);

*OUR PLANET, where the film’s topic covers third world issues, ecology, nature or the environment; and

*HYBRID/ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION, where the film features a hybrid vehicle, bicycle, electric scooter or public transportation.

We're looking for:

Steady cam and/or B-cam operator
AC with P2 card experience (must know how to download footage for us)
Sound
PA (needs to be able to drive producer, director and interviewee to and from locations)

We may also be looking to shoot some aerial footage and I would love suggestions for that as well!
