Hi everyone – Hope you are all well.
I am a young documentary film maker from Ireland, I have been making a Hip-Hop documentary 'Peace, Love, Unity and Havin' Fun' for the last 3 / 4 years. I feel it has international appeal and would be of interest to a lot of young people.

Hi Ben, just introduced myself there, do you think I should put a post up in the mentor section? Seems to be plenty of goods advice.
If you have a precise question, yes, the Mentoring Room is all yours. Just try not to repeat the same general posting as you did before.

Hello All, and Merry Christmas:
I just wanted to introduce myself and get my name out there to this community. If anyone in the New York area is need of administrative, research, or production support as they gear up for new projects after the new year, please get in touch.
I am an aspiring producer looking for work as a production assistant. I have extensive documentary internship experience, a strong background in foreign affairs research and advocacy, and experience as an administrative assistant as well.
I am proficient with FCP and Photoshop, comfortable assisting on location, and used to being ask to do just about everything. An all around executer (with a sense of humor, of course)!
CURRENT RESUME ATTACHED.
Award-winning filmmaker Jon Reiss (www.jonreiss.com) is seeking an editing intern for his latest documentary project “Bomb It” about the explosion of graffiti culture all over the world.
While the position is unpaid, and will begin with assistant tasks there is potential for the chosen intern to cut trailers, webisodes and potentially sections of the next documentary.
Editor should be self-motivated, complete work in a timely manner and be proficient with Final Cut Pro. Knowledge of After Effects, DVD Studio Pro, and/or a foreign language are a plus.
Position begins at mid/end of January. We are looking for a commitment of 10-15hrs a week. Location is in West Los Angeles.
If this sounds like a good fit for you please visit www.bombit-themovie.com before you send:
1. Short cover letter indicating why this position seems right for you.
2. Your resume.
3. Your schedule of availability
I'm seeking an assistant editor in the D.C. area to help translate footage for my film DELTA BOYS
The material is in Okrika an Ijaw dialect of the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. The footage is very interesting, filmed in a Niger Delta militant camp.
I haven't been able to find Okrika translators in New York, but it looks like there are some in the D.C. area. The work would involve sitting with the translator, going through the footage in Final Cut, and typing in the translation.
You don't need to be a master editor, but must be Final Cut savvy and quick and have access to a system.
This a paid gig depending on your experience.
