HIRING EDITOR FOR FEATURE DOCUMENTARY – WASHINGTON DC AREA
A creative and experienced editor is sought for OUT IN THE SILENCE, a one hour social issue documentary for public broadcast. A trailer, treatment, and artistic statement are available on the website: http://outinthesilence.com . Funding is available and salary will be based on experience.

PROGRAM SYNOPSIS: The announcement of the filmmaker’s wedding to another man ignites a firestorm of controversy in his small hometown and leads to an exhilarating journey through love, hate and understanding in rural America. The aim of this personal documentary is to expand public awareness about the struggles of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people in small town America and promote dialogue and action that will help people on all sides of the issues find common ground and lead to fairness and equality for all.
DIRECTORS: Joe Wilson and Dean Hamer formed qWaves.com to make documentary films that focus on controversial and often ignored social and human rights issues. They have produced and directed over a dozen pieces for television and won numerous awards including winner of the PBS Independent Lens Online Shorts Festival and winner of the Videomaker National Documentary Challenge.
PROJECT STATUS: Principle shooting is complete and over 200 hours of footage has been logged. qWaves is partnering with WPSU-TV Penn State Broadcasting and the Pennsylvania Public Television Network to the complete the program and present it for broadcast and distribution.
