Greetings all!
I'm involved with a 501c3 based in Virginia that generates school supplies and teacher funds for two orphanages in Liberia. It's a small organization, and has done some amazing work. After 5 years, the organizations board of directors are making the 14 hour trip to Liberia in January to finally get on the ground, assess the needs of the children and the orphanages, and come back to the states with some clearer ideas on how to improve the conditions for the children.

We're hoping to document the trip, and upon departure from Liberia, leave the video camera with the orphanage for educational purposes, and teach the children some of the basics of video production, etc. I know most of the folks here are incredibly resourceful, and I thought I'd let everyone know what we're doing! If you're interested in helping out, or have some advice or any kind of direction you could point me in, you can contact me offline! In the meantime, feel free to check out the website of this great group! http://www.loeproject.org/

Yeah, the rough cut of GOOD FORTUNE I saw is the same one you saw at the Sundance Labs, Christopher. For next week's screening at DocuClub, we are showing a cut that is shorter than what you saw, but that incorporates some of the feedback from the labs. Feel free to check our "Talk Back" (www.docuclub.org) section after the screening, for a recap of the screening/post screening feedback session.

In reply to Robert Richter's post on Fri 29 Feb 2008 :

Sorry, juts seen your post. Apart from the 3 months (Jan – March) post election violence, which rocked some parts of the country, everything is pretty much back to normal. So normal that Roger Moore and Dean Cain just landed into the country. Sending a former JaMes bond and a former Superman....
