Hello Everyone,

My name is Cara Kay and I am currently working with a development team for a brand new television network that will launch in April of 2009. Right now, my assignment is to review short form content and submit what I find to our team, who will then decide which content to pass on to our acquisitions director. Our team is scouring the internet in search of ready-made user-submitted content, but we are also being encouraged to look for artists who might like to use our platform as a fresh opportunity to launch their own creativity by customizing content specific to our brand.

Here's what we're looking for:

The duration of each short form submission needs to be between 3-10 minutes long and deal with themes of purpose and identity, social justice and environmentalism, community and relationships, a quest for spirituality, or arts and culture. We are not boxing anybody into a specific production quality standard. We rate the quality of a short according the impact of its message and the creativity in which it is communicated.

Here are examples of some short form styles that represent what our network would be interested in:

RELATIONSHIPS:
A Thousand Words: http://www.pangeaday.org/filmDetail.php?id=74
My First Crush: http://www.pangeaday.org/filmDetail.php?id=48

SOCIAL JUSTICE:
Mankind is No Island: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZrDxe9gK8Gk&feature=PlayList&p=7A4F257C8DB1F308&index=2
Bright Orange: http://www.good.is/?p=11868

PURPOSE & IDENTITY:
Dancing Queen: http://www.pangeaday.org/filmDetail.php?id=4
Ignorable Calling: http://www.vimeo.com/672573

SPIRITUAL / INSPIRATIONAL:
Nick Vujicic: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VxcrYVq1Dcc
Nooma Today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=32EZrJBmAqU&feature=related

ART & CULTURE:
Harmonica Beatbox: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHUuqsSCn5g
1 Week of Art Works: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/1455262/1week_of_art_works/

Please realize that a submission does not guarantee that the project will be picked up by our network. It will be reviewed by our development team first and then, if the team agrees to pursue acquisition of the content, the producer will be contacted. What I can guarantee is this: all fresh content that is made specific to the themes listed above and that has not been viewed through any other media outlet will DEFINITELY make it to the top of our selection list as we want to find new content-creators for our network in order to mark it as a broadcasting entity that's fresh and innovative rather than just another media outlet regurgitating what has already been done.

You can submit your short form(s) via FTP or better yet, email me a link for online viewing. If either option does not work for you, then email me and I will give you an address so you can send me a DVD. When emailing me, use the following Subject Header: Cara Kay Short Form Response.

Thanks,
Cara Kay

Hi,

I am a composer who has scored several feature films, TV adverts, documentaries and other visual media projects. I write music in a range of styles from atmospheric ambient soundscapes to contemporary orchestral and electronica.

I've just added the first in a series of music album downloads specifically composed for film and documentary makers to my website. It's a royalty-free collection meaning that buying the collection grants the user a license to use the music with no further worries about license fees or further payments.

The music is a collection of dark piano and atmospheric background beds that would work well in serious documentaries, horror, drama, thrillers etc. The collection of 15 tracks is 45 minutes long and is available for a limited time for just £24.95 (approx. 43$ USD) which is the only amount you need to pay in order to use this music in any of your productions, whether for commercial, non-commercial, broadcast, non-broadcast, festivals etc.

You can find out more or hear short clips here:

www.thebluemask.com

The majority of the rest of my music is also available to license for your film depending on the usage. See rates here:

www.thebluemask.com/licensing.htm

If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch.
