Been meaning to join for a while now and with much urging from Josh Weinstein (Flying on One Engine). Well the day has finally come! I look forward to exploring the site and following conversations. My partner David Redmon and I make documentaries (Mardi Gras: Made in China, Intimidad, Kamp Katrina and Invisible Girlfriend).
A year and a half ago we started the distribution branch of our production company Carnivalesque Films. Carnivalesque Films now distributes all of our productions and also other gems including, Orphans, Manhattan, KS, Holy Modal Rounders: Bound to Lose, The New Year Parade, and Woodpecker.

I'm originally from LA but have spent the last four years in Taiwan where we shot three Asian/US based documentaries. Now, I'm in San Francisco, working on the post production for these films.
We're actually looking for editors or assistant editors (PAID) to work on these right now. They must be bi-lingual and have feature documentary experience.

I'm not a filmmaker who found a subject, but am a subject who became a filmmaker – to tell the world about the crop circle phenomenon. My new film is "What On Earth? Inside the Crop Circle Mystery." My fundamental interest is in the consciousness expanding awakening going on, and the circles could create the biggest shift ever in how humanity perceives itself. If we knew we were being visited by another intelligence, we would be one humanity in relation to 'the other,"' and, given how dangerous we have become to one another, as someone in the film says, "That could be what saves this civilization." Am doing DIY marketing, with an internet official launch a couple of weeks ago. This is the marketing site to which we are directing traffic: http://CropCircleMovie.com. I've been lurking around reading the posts for a while, I think its about time I introduced myself as well:).
I'm Mridula Bhatia, a first time documentary filmmaker staying in Seattle. I've just finished editing my first film -The Mountaineers. Its a thirty minute long film about three women cancer survivors who try and climb Mount Adams. Its been a long, fun though isolating experience to do this on my own. Now that its done, I am at a loose end planning the next step for the film.

I am a novelist (Bittersweet; Tuttle Publishing) and memoirist (Daughter of Heaven: A Memoir with Earthly Recipes; Arcade Publishing) living in New York City.
Recently, I was blessed a wealth of visual and aural material about four Chinese-American sisters who became a jazz vocal quartet and performed on the Broadway stage and Hollywood screen during the 30s and 40s. So the book I was planning to write about them has become a documentary film instead. As a first-time filmmaker, I have completed videotaped interviews of the four sisters and a rough cut.
Now I am hoping to receive some advice about how I might go about obtaining rights, permissions, licensing for a number of songs and archival film clips that are part and parcel of my 1-hour film – as well as learn what the fees would be.
